The revised EYFS raises both Communication and Personal, Social, Emotional Development to ‘prime area’ status. The new Cosy spaces our design team invented serve both these areas of development. Elizabeth Jarman says: ‘Often children are more confident communicators in smaller spaces, where they feel safe and have some control of what’s going on around them.’ 

To have a corner 'my size' strengthens a child's sense of self. Children love to snuggle into a secure spot, a hideaway from which to look out at the world. And they prefer curves to right angles.
